Introducing TRE College

Developed by trauma specialist David Berceli, TRE stands for Trauma and Tension Release Exercise. It’s a safe, effective and pain-free technique to release stress and trauma, and can be learned as a life-long self-regulating tool.

Founder and director Steven Haines says the beauty of TRE lies in the fact that it is you healing you. He has observed the painful effects of trauma, when he says, “people disappear from their body, which becomes a hidden, inaccessible place”.  TRE can help clients find their way back towards what Steven describes as “the joy of embodiment”.

What to expect?

TRE is a set of simple exercises designed to induce therapeutic trembling in the body, awakening the natural mechanism that releases trauma. These tremors help reset the reflexes and habits in the central nervous system.

Each class consists of an introduction, relaxation and TRE exercises, followed by trembling and integration time, and time for feedback and sharing at the end. TRE College offers group and individual sessions in venues across London via a network of qualified practitioners. TRE often brings results quickly, without the necessity for excessive mental or emotional analysis.
