WHAT IS A MANDALA
A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe.
The meaning of mandala comes from Sanskrit meaning “circle.” Even though it may have features like squares or triangles, a mandala always has a concentric (circular) nature.
In common use, “mandala” has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe.
There are others who believe mandalas reflect our inner world, our thoughts in search of completeness and self-unity.
