About Core Clapton
Based in a beautiful Edwardian hall in Clapton Core Clapton offer classes, activities and treatments specialising in Osteopathy.
CORE stands for the Centre for Osteopathic Research and Excellence and was registered as a charity to provide access to osteopathy, professional development for osteopaths, and research into drug-free treatments for chronic pain
Core offers specialist treatment to individuals on a ‘pay what you can’ scale, helping people suffering from chronic pain to get back to doing what they enjoy most. We also provide affordable wellness classes to encourage a healthier and happier community. Our vision is to build an active community free from chronic pain.
Everyone has a right to a pain free life
Chronic pain prevents people from living their lives to the fullest. Each year 31 million work days are lost in the UK as a result of back pain. Injections and opioids are commonly offered as the answer, although prevention and pain management can offer better, safer, solutions. At Core Clapton we give people the tools to keep their body healthy and at its full potential by providing a good understanding of how the body works and introducing habits to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Monday to Friday classes encompassing Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Mindful Movement and Social Singing are availableWe are currently trialling classes on a donation basis. We hope that some will pay the going rate of £10, but for those who really cannot afford it, we are happy to accept anything from £2. (as of August 2019)
Rest assured, every pound we make is reinvested into the charity, providing a variety of healthcare services for you and the rest of the community.

An Urban Retreat with Yogamatters & Esther Ekhart
Yogamatters, in partnership with Esther Ekhart, invites you to join us for an urban day retreat to relax, renew and rebalance.
Together, we will work on getting out of our heads and into our bodies through concentration and mindfulness, the first two pillars for a more harmonious mind. The depth of knowledge and experience that Esther Ekhart brings is not to be missed. She explores how our energies tend to gather in our head, so you will learn how to let those energies settle in the lower Dantian, the energy centre in the lower belly.
According to Daoist tradition, “Hundreds of diseases will disappear once the energy comes down from the head and collects in the lower Dantian”. You will take home techniques and an understanding of how to do just that.
Founder of EkhartYoga, Esther Ekhart brings years of personal yoga and meditation practice, therapy training and study of yoga philosophy into her teaching. Having collaborated extensively with the team at Yogamatters in recent years, bringing her latest UK urban yoga retreat to the city with us feels like the perfect partnership and we are so excited to share such a special day with you

Humans have been aware of the healing power of their breath for millennia. Through the centuries we’ve developed a vast array of breathing practices, all designed to bring about physical and emotional wellbeing and connect with our deeper selves.
Conscious breathing is a powerful and safe way to infuse the body with oxygen and energy, recharging our own (often depleted) systems to work to their healing capacity. And it facilitates openings to higher levels of consciousness, allowing us to tap into our deeper resources and live our lives joyfully and in abundance.
With breathwork we can enjoy optimum health, mental and emotional clarity, and experience an ever-deepening relationship with ourselves. It’s the means by which we can embark upon the ultimate journey: the one where we discover who we really are. And it can facilitate the growth needed in order for us to transform into who we’re capable of becoming
