Our founders came from high-powered investment banking careers, to build something new. A movement to be defined by change. The type defined by a man, who at nearly 80 conquered Everest. Or the kind embodied in the person who doesn’t stop at the back of the napkin, but has the tenacity, confidence and burning desire to get up and do it knowing that every moment counts. Bikram Yoga London is Brought together by our passion for staying fit, feeling great, and putting hot yoga at the centre of a healthy lifestyle, for the body and mind.
Our Studios: London Bridge
1A Magdalen Street,
South East London, SE1 2EN 020 7036 3866
BYL’s newest Southwark location is in the heart of London Bridge – next to the Shard and a hop, skip and jump from both London Bridge train station and Tower Bridge. Recently refurbished under our new ownership, we’re the largest yoga studio in London, so our busy classes have a great energy about them, while our quiet ones give you loads of space.
Our studio is state of the art, with mechanically engineered heating, ventilation and humidity system to carefully control heat and humidity in class. The changing rooms have open showers and lockers. The space feels cleaner, lighter and more uplifiting than ever!
The studio is located just moments away from the new exit at the London Bridge station! As London Bridge train/tube station has several exits, we recommend taking the new exit and exit right onto Tooley Street. Walk past the pub and cross Bermondsey street, passing Chilango along the way. Continue for a minute until you reach Bursar Street (you’ll see Carve on the corner) and turn right. You’ll immediately be on Magdalen Street, where you turn left and see our sign straight ahead.

Why The Heat?
Hot yoga is the broad term we use for a range of different posture-based exercises, held in a heated room to around 105°F (40°C). Lasting between 60 and 90 minutes and derived from the traditional Bikram-method, 26 posture sequence, the practice is known to have a range of health benefits when undertaken regularly.
Studies have shown that heat can be highly synergistic with exercise, allowing the body to operate more optimally, ensuring you’re getting the most return out of your exercise routine. While conventional wisdom states that a typical hot yoga class can result in a 1000 calorie burn or more, 1400 calories in a single session is not unheard of. This is perhaps why so many Bikram yoga practitioners say they can often begin to feel and see the results within their first few hot yoga classes! The heat brings significant benefits, allowing for more effective muscle relaxation and blood circulation enabling deeper, more fluid stretching and minimising risk of injury.
Let’s face it, while there are times we may have to practise in a cooler setting, no ‘hot yoga’ class would be quite the same without that beautiful heat! We enjoy a state-of-the art heating system that creates a carefully controlled climate, ranging in temperature from 35-42 degrees depending on the type of yoga class. Our system also ensures a constant flow of fresh, filtered air to open up your breathing to wonderful highs.
Whether you’re a complete newbie or an expert yogi, our varied range of classes makes the Hot Yoga Society the perfect place to sweat yourself amazing. And let’s not forget our workshops in mindfulness and nutritional advice – all there to give you a gentle push to becoming an even better version of you.
